Challenges Solved

Blue Nile employs some of the smartest engineers around and was well aware of the industry-wide CMS failure rate as many of the Blue Nile engineers were witness to the scars caused by those "Big" end-to-end one size fits all Content Management middleware Systems. In fact, Blue Nile was so serious that they provisioned a large amount of capital to pay a prospective CMS vendor for the evaluation. Well, the product turned out to be too proprietary for Blue Nile's needs.

Since Blue Nile had spent precious capital already, they were not about to implement anything without an extensive due-diligence - nor were they going to allocate any capital toward this effort again. Naturally, Blue Nile was on heightened alert. Refresh was contacted and our team was certainly up for the challenge. We assigned our CTO James Gonthier and he was personally assigned to work directly with Blue Nile engineers.

Blue Nile completed the most extensive evaluation on SR2 that we have ever seen - leaving no stone unturned and nothing to chance. Lucky for Refresh, Blue Nile loved SR2's de-coupled J2EE Core architecture. They could use their variety of Web scripting technologies across their several international Web properties without having to reengineer their internal processes or architecture. Other important features that helped Refresh win the Blue Nile account were: (1) super-flexible de-coupled architecture did not impose unnecessary standards on Web developers (2) Open API and Open Publishing System delivery model and (3) ultra-flexible object model gave marketers the ability to create A/B promotions for marketing programs.
