eCopy has an extensive list of partners with whom they must keep close communication in order to achieve sales success as eCopy's revenue is directly correlated to their partner channel initiative. eCopy's problem was that with all those partners - it was near impossible to update and personalize each partners Web experience so that those partners felt "special." A radical approach needed to be implemented to serve eCopy's partners as well as to satisfy eCopy management in meeting their partner relationship and sales goals.
SR2 was chosen because of its strong metadata driven personalization capabilities along with its ultra flexible object model. In SR2 Content Objects can be configured to provide boilerplate content for Web visitors or alternate content based on your login permissions and status. Refresh Web architects pioneered a delivery model called "Content Shadowing," whereby business users could populate a personalization matrix within SR2 to deliver an infinite level of personalized content depending on a complex personalization criteria. To accomplish this goal in alternative CMS products, eCopy would have spent hundreds of thousands in capital for software; 3X the licensing amount in professional services; and endure a very lengthy timeline - a risk that eCopy just did not want to take.
